PERMISSIONS POST (IN THE NIGHT)
THE SUMMONER OF SOUND
THE EXPLANATION
Upon playing music on her violin, Aislin can cause someone to experience the following abilities if they hear her music:
ILLUSION MANIPULATION
Music: Eerie and light music.
The person becomes susceptible to visual and auditory illusions that she evokes through the piece she's playing and the mood it summons. The person must hear Aislin play the music to be under the hallucinations. They'll snap back to reality the second they do not hear it. Strong-willed individuals can fight back against this and even break away from Aislin's powers.
Another thing that Aislin can do with this power is that she can break down illusions that others have long since set up. She'll first need to find it through the frequencies of her music than begin to hone her music towards that direction, building up her energy until she pushes her music through this veil and breaks it. This is a time-consuming and exhausting thing to use but has been useful once or twice.
EMOTION INDUCEMENT
Music: Emotional and melancholic music.
Listening to these melodies can cause someone to fall under the influence of Aislin's music. Depending on the music she's playing, the person can feel emotions that Aislin is trying to suggest to them. They usually feel either great fear or terrible despair due to the heavy and oppressive pieces she plays when using this ability, using it as a sort of ward from others who are seeking them. Like with her illusion manipulation, strong-willed individuals can fight against this attempt to play with their mind.
MADNESS INDUCEMENT
Music: Intense and frenzied music.
Listening to these melodies can cause someone to lose their self-control and cause them to suddenly become hostile and aggressive to others, their paranoia and suspicious increased tenfold. It'll get to the point that they will attack the people around them or cause harm to themselves.

THE RESTRICTIONS
BEYOND THE REALMS
Because she's canonically dead and also in another universe - one that presumably does not have the eldritch abominations from the fathoms of terrible space knocking at its door - Aislin's tie with Xa'ligha has weakened. Not enough for it to be destroyed. Merely enough that it's now a crapshoot (AKA the mods' discretion) on whether or not Aislin's ability to break or cast illusions or other powers will work if she attempts to use it with the environment.
THE BODY'S LIMITS
Naturally, one must hear Aislin play her music and only the music she plays on her violin. If your character is hard of hearing or can block out sound, they're able to resist her. It's also been observed and seen in the past that those of exceptionally strong will can fight off her control, even breaking out from her music's influence in the process. (But what is the measure of an 'exceptionally strong will' for this part? That'll be up for the character's player to decide at their own discretion.)
SHALL GO UNPUNISHED
Not even Aislin can come out unscathed. Though her powers do not directly affect her, she still suffers from side effects after she plays. Her senses become numbed and muffled, no doubt her mind reeling from the exposure of the music. She'll have trouble hearing and speaking and talking, sometimes needing assistance to get around somewhere. The longer she plays, the longer these effects will linger. There is a risk of her becoming permanently damaged from her music if she plays it for too long.

THE PERMISSIONS
Below you can find the code for the permissions list, where you can copypaste and answer it. Please leave it in a separate comment, not as a reply to the example comment.
All comments are screened at the start and when they're unscreened, it means I've gotten around to reading it and putting it away in a cheatsheet I have hidden in this journal for reference's sake.

(frozen comment) EXAMPLE OF THE PERMISSIONS CODE IN-USE
Character Name: Aislin Abendroth.
Canon: Original.
Can Aislin's music influence your character? No.
If not, what is the reason? She's the player of the music and, thus, cannot be affected.
Questions: N/A.
Anything else: Aislin Abendroth's permission post.
no subject
Character Name: Chloe Frazer
Canon: Uncharted
Can Aislin's music influence your character? Sure!
If not, what is the reason? N/A. She's a normal person with no control over things lojl.
Questions: Nope, I got it.
Anything else: No she's a boring human with no permissions. ;)
cw: possession/loss of agency of underage characters
Character Name: Riku
Canon: Kingdom Hearts
Can Aislin's music influence your character? Yes! But It's Complicated.
If not, what is the reason? Riku is easier to manipulate in subtle ways. Because of his experience being possessed by Xehanort's Heartless, (Ansem, Seeker of Darkness) Riku has become immune to the corrupting influence of the Darkness and has a lot of unresolved baggage around losing his agency. If aware he is under some outside influence, he will put up a fight. How effective he'll be at resisting depends a lot on how strong his will is at the time.
Questions: Given the eldritch horrorterror thing is this considered a 'dark' power? If so... oh boy do I have a link for you! (you already visited it before)
Anything else: Riku's permission post.

Character Name: daniel riordan
Canon: original character
Can Aislin's music influence your character? sure!
If not, what is the reason? he's a magical practitioner of some power, but seeing as he's more tree than man even in death, some nice reminders of his humanity (illusions! emotions! madness!) seem all above board.
Questions: nope!
Anything else: he's only good with plants, it's all good.

Character Name: Clarke Griffin
Canon: The 100
Can Aislin's music influence your character? Yes, but with possible exceptions.
If not, what is the reason? I'm not opposed to Clarke being influenced by Aislin's music, but I would like to have an OOC discussion ahead of time before it happens, as it may be scene-dependent and there may be instances where I'm not keen on it happening to my character.
Questions: Nope!

Character Name: Jason Todd
Canon: DC Comics
Can Aislin's music influence your character? I'd like to put it under "maybe, if we've discussed it."
If not, what is the reason? Her particular emotional manipulations are things he already suffers from, and while I think it could be fun the have him lose control, there's canon reason to believe that if he's expecting it, or has enough warning, he'd be able to fight against the effects.
Questions: Seems fun, I hope we have to chat some day.

If not, what is the reason? NA
